BUT, I know some of you will never change...sooo........
Although I would not take you to your drug dealer or buy you
cigarettes,
I realize that some of you old.....ahem,
well.... lets just say some of you refuse to learn anything new..even
if it's easier and better.
So I'll throw that group of you a bone.
;-)
You may have noticed that it is VERY tough to find a full download for
IE6.
You can use their custom installer if you wish (and if you trust them).
But they screwed with this option in WinXP.
So here is how you can download the whole prog and burn it ot a CD if
you want to.
Microsoft
Knowledge Base article 257249. mentions a special command line for
the setup program.
Please note, though, that their own explanation of how and where to use
the double-quotes is wrong
Just do THIS:
Creat a new folder on any drive called IE_Setup.
Download the IE6Setup.exe file from here Internet
Explorer and put it in the file you made,
lets say you chose " C:\IE_Setup"/ as the folder.
Once it is in your new folder, run the following command from within
the
Start / Run box:
C:\IE_Setup\ie6setup
/c:"ie6wzd.exe /d:1
/s:""#E"""
Just Copy and Paste this line so you don't mess up the quotes.
( That’s the part Microsoft’s page is wrong about,
suprise!)
The download will be about 45 megs. These files all go into the folder
you specify on
the second screen of the download utility.
By default, “C:\WINDOWS\Windows Update Setup
Files” , but you can change that too.
Good luck with this.....
(Ya know, downloading and learning Mozilla
would be easier!)

Have you ever copied some text from a web page, a word document,

makes this simple. Just copy/cut whatever you want to the clipboard,
click on the PureText tray icon, and then paste to any application.
Better, you can configure a hot-key to convert and paste the text for
you
and paste it at the same time. So if I copy some plain text and paste
it I use
CNTRL-V and I set PureText to paste when I type WINKEY-V..very handy!

Intelligent Copier W9x/2k/XP
FREE
http://www.interdesigner.com/freeware/IntelligentCopier/
{Moving files} This system tray application moves files based on
rules. For instance, all of my zip files go into the c:\backup
folder. This can become an automatic process using Intelligent
Copier by creating a rule for *.zip to go into the c:\backup
folder. Next time I find a *.zip file, I can drag and drop it into
the Intelligent Copier, and it'll either copy or move it into the
c:\backup
folder, depending on the options for the file type. If
the file type has "yes" in the move column, then it will move it.
If it has "no," then it copies the file into the folder but also
keeps the file in the folder where you found it.
Go in Options | Defaults, right-click on an empty row, and select
New. Enter the file info, destination, etc.

because it had
system configuration information stored inside. This has been
fixed as of Mac OS X 10.1. DS_Store files are annoying when you
transfer files and folders to other systems. Windows and Linux
make these files visible and they get in the way. If you are

Newsreaders
http://www.newsreaders.com/
Usenet is a world-wide discussion system known as newsgroups.
People post messages to these newsgroups, which are read and
responded to by others. It's similar to an online discussion
forum, except instead of going to a Web site for that particular
forum, the discussions are downloaded with software usually in a
specific application.
WebSpy
W98/2k/XP FREE
http://www.mywebattack.com/gnomeapp.php?id=106599
WebSpy is a small tool that lets you find Web servers and
automatically resolve their domain name (if any). It can start on
a given IP address and automatically scan a specified range for
responding servers. If found, the domain name is resolved and
added to the list. Useful to find out what other Web sites are
hosted by the same ISP, for example.
SpeakerDaemon W2k/XP FREE
http://sourceforge.net/projects/speakerdaemon/
daemon is acronym, "Disk And Execution MONitor."
It is a program that is dormant, waiting for a condition to occur.
This program is for system administrators, monitors an unlimited
number of files on local or remote file systems for changes, logs
the changes, and gives a report by talking. Add the files to
monitor or activate the TCP server for incoming text strings on a
user selected port. Features include startup options, turning off
annoying voices (the program said that, not me!), and message
logging.
RmtCmdGUI W9x/2k/XP
FREE
http://www.skrubbeltrang.com/Tools.aspx?Tool=RmtCmdGUI
{Remotely run commands} Remote Command remotely runs any command
and returns the output. It's a good supplement to existing tools
that do not run remotely - "route print," "ipconfig /all," and
"arp -a," for example. With Remote Command, you don't need client
tools on the target machine, and you can execute a local file on
the remote system. Just enter the remote system information and
the command, and then click Run. There are no help files, and it
requires the .Net Framework to run.
File Type Manager W98/2k/XP FREE
http://www.csc.uvic.ca/~fworsley/ftm/
{Windows file types} Windows' file manager is weak, while
File Type Manager is on steriods for managing file types, shell
extensions, and actions. It's intended for power users, since the
program messes with the system and has consequences when making a
change. Users can edit, view, add, remove, and find file types.
The utility puts and orphaned file extension into its own folder.
I reviewed the list of orphans and went to File Extensions
<http://filext.com/>
to look up the extension and get details
including program, company, MIME, file classification, notes, and
related links. Power users can find many uses for this utility.
