Hello From The
Pres... |

JANUARY SWAP MEET = SUCCESS !!! Wow…. When we asked you to bring your stuff to the sale…. You bring your stuff. It was great to see such a great response to the sale / swap meet. I'm sorry it was a little disorganized, but, we were not expecting as many vendors as we had. Next time it will go much smoother and we’ll try to keep it under control a little better… Thanks again to all the participants and to the people that bought all their stuff…
FEBRUARY DEMO = HOME VIDEO SOFTWARE I’ve been wanting to get into the convert-my-home-videos to digital media mode so I’ve been looking at Home Video Software. A few of my friends at work have been figuring out which programs work the best and one of them is a club member. When he, Craig Heaton, offered to do a video demo on Pinnacle Studio, it was the perfect chance for me to learn a little more about the process. Craig tells me it is not as hard as it seems… If you want to learn about it too, make sure you come to the February Meeting for Craig’s Video Editing Using Pinnacle Studio Demo. COMPUTER SHOW The computer show will be here soon (Mar. 5th -7th) and we’ll have the sign up sheets at the meeting. Please look at your calendars and see if you can work the booth for an hour or two on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If you do, you’ll get into the show free and you’ll get the joy of helping others… OLD SLOW CD’s If you have any older 16X or slower CD’s at home and it seems like it takes forever to burn them in your new 48x or 52x burner that you just got at OfficeMax for less than $20 after rebate. Why don’t you bring them to the club so we can use them in the 12x duplicator that we use to make the library CDs. It will get some of the clutter out of your house and you’ll feel better after you make room for the new faster ones that are free after rebate… Seriously, if you have any older CD’s that you are never going to use, please bring them to Charles Wallace our Librarian and he’ll put them to good use…
See
you at the meeting … Mike |

The Secretary's Report |

The president Mike Taphorn
opened the meeting at 7 PM and he first of all welcomes the new members
and guests. He proceeded to explain that the meeting was going to be a
very short one due to the swap and fixing computers theme for the night.
He also brought up the normal information that he finds in different
computer related magazines. Next, the meeting moved to the Q and A format
for the benefit of those who need assistance with their computers.
Finally, he closed the formal part of the meeting and allowed everyone to
do what ever they most needed. The membership had a good time swapping
items and most significantly they had a better time when the problems to
their computers were solved by some of the club members with more computer
knowledge. The next computer meeting will be held at the same time and
location on Feb. 18, 2004. Carlos |

Good news, bad news. Good news is that we'll hopefully be saving the club some
money and hoping to make my job easier. Bad
news is if you lose your badge. We will now require $5.00 for a
replacement badge. We have always requested that you leave your
badge with us after meetings. Now you have incentive to do just
that. We don't get many requests for new badges, and we have
multiple duplicates already. Needless to say it gets a little
confusing and expensive. Hence the new policy. I recommend you
check for your badge at a meeting and report any problems.
