It's time for Nominations:

We elect our officers every November. In order to get ready for the elections, we will have our nominations this month. Most of our current board members are running for their offices again, but, we lost our Treasurer and our Newsletter Editor when Charles and Diane White moved away last month. Please make sure you attend this meeting if you are interested in becoming an officer. You get free membership and you get to eat food and hang out with the President and the other board members on the first Wednesday of every month at our board meeting. Here is a list of the offices that we will accept nominations for and their current occupants:

President - Mike Taphorn
V.P. - Jim Tomlinson
Secretary - Carlos Mariles
Membership Chairman - J.C. Spelce
Librarian - Jason Whitener
Treasurer - Open
Webmaster - Steven
Newsletter - Open

If you want to run for Treasurer or any other position, please let me know via e-mail or attend the next meeting to get your name in the hat. We have a few people that may be interested in the open positions, but, if any of you are willing to help out the club a little, we could have an official Election with speeches and everything.

DEMONSTRATION

Chuck Hill is going to explain what RAID is and why it is a good thing. If you do not know what a RAID array is or why you might need one, make sure you are at the meeting to learn why you probably would be better off with RAID in your life. If you use RAID or you can bring in a machine that uses RAID, please bring your best ones to the meeting so we can all see what you have. Show off a little. The one with the biggest working array wins. Chuck will give you all the details on RAID at the meeting so make sure you show up...

HOLIDAY PARTY PRIZES

It’s almost time to get the Holiday Party organized. We are in the mode where we are coming up with a nifty give away item for the Holiday Party. We have some of our old items left from last year, but, I'm hoping to find some good bargains and pick up some more items for the party. Let me know if you spot any good deals on stuff that we can get in bulk for our annual give-a-way extravaganza.....

This is the New GCC Newsletter look I'd would like to implement as the New Editor, if I'm elected. I think putting in links on the right will make it more useful to all of the membership. So forward me any links you would like to see posted. I'll so after election, I'll hyperlink to all of GCC website from this newsletter. (if you vote for me...lol )

Also as in this newsletter sample, I won't post any empty sections if any member does not have anything to say in newsletter. For the simple reason it looks bad and it is wasted space.
