The GCC List Server
The List Server, another club
benefit; it is available to CLUB MEMBERS ONLY. It is a easy fast way to contact most of the club members
without looking up a bunch of email addresses. By sending an email to just
one address, everyone who is a member of the list server gets your email.
Conversely if you are a member of the list server, you will get email from
everyone who is is a member of the list server.
All club members are
automatically added to the List Server when they join the club. If a
club member does not want to be on the List Server CLICK
HERE and follow the instructions.
To send an e-mail to everybody's that's subscribed to the list, simply send your message to:
gcc@htc.net. If
you click on that address your email program will automatically open and
your message will be addressed. (Do not do it unless you are member
of the list server.)
Everybody that's subscribed will get your message. When composing your
message please make the subject line
meaningful and try to put your request in to a category. The list server will automatically
prepend [GCC] to your subject line - .Some example subject lines:
[GCC] - POST - COMPUTER SHOW THIS WEEK!
[GCC] - QUESTION - YATA YATA?
[GCC] - RE:[GCC] QUESTION - YATA YATA?
Remember it is NEVER a good idea to open ANYTHING from an email address
you don't recognize. Also
please make sure you are using a virus checking program and that your
system is clean. It is also a good idea to scan all incoming
emails.....there is a lot of bad things floating around out there
If you reply to a message that somebody sends to the list, you have to change the 'To:' in your reply to 'gcc@htc.net' if you want everybody to see your reply. Otherwise, the message will go just to the original sender. I would encourage you to reply to the list rather than the sender. This way everybody gets to see your pearls of wisdom.
Please bear in mind that anything you send will be immediately sent to everybody that has
subscribed, including VIRUSES. There is no moderator for this list
server. |
